Howdy, I’m Justin!

I am a Technical Artist from Austin, Texas. My journey into video game development began in 2018 when I threw myself into a game jam with absolutely zero experience. I discovered that I loved the process and creativity that comes with building games, and I quickly became hungry to learn more. A long way has come since then. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Arts and Entertainment Technologies and Computer Science certificate. A few months after, I joined my first game studio as the team’s first technical artist where I got contracted by Gearbox to work on Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Later, I had the opportunity to work with Universal Studio on their Minion’s ride.

Learning has always been my passion. I enjoy tackling and overcoming challenges. Outside of my game development, I taught myself how to play guitar, trained for my black belt in martial arts, and competed on a dance team. My hobbies have taught me discipline and freedom of expression whether it is through music or body movements. Part of me has always enjoyed performing, being on stage, and entertaining others. Making games is another creative outlet for me to excite people and make them smile. Because I am a performer, artist, gamer, and programmer, I found the perfect home with game development, and I aim to continue utilizing my creative vision to bring people together through immersive experiences.

I am currently exploring procedural development in videogames. I am excited to show off my work on this portfolio. Please, make sure to check out some of my latest work.
